JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall classroom management, leading a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
  • Implement the curriculum via developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  • Serve as a role model to develop young minds and inspire a love of learning.
  • Build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic work environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice.
  • Attends family engagement events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old or have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 9 months of supervised work experience or practicum
  • 3 credits in Child Growth and Development, Birth - Eight Years
  • Experience with Teaching Strategies Gold preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with teachers, children, parents and other childcare workers.
  • Attends staff meetings.
  • Ability to be patient and understanding when working with children and interacting with parents.
  • Must participate in required hours per year of training through workshops, courses, conferences, and all in-service training relating to early childhood education.
  • Submit and pass background check.
  • Obtain certification in CPR and First-Aid within 6 months of employment; must be maintained by obtaining recertification as necessary.
