About the Role
<div><strong>AFTER SCHOOL HOURS (MONDAY - FRIDAY) & SATURDAY AVAILABILITY ESSENTIAL</strong></div><div><strong>[Preference for Candidates Available to Start at <u>3:00 PM</u> on Weekdays]</strong></div><div><br></div><div><strong>Job Brief:</strong></div><p>We are seeking a committed teacher/tutor to join our talented team of educators, delivering knowledge and instruction in ELA, Math, Science, and/or Social Studies. The teacher/tutor will develop engaging, interactive, and innovative lessons, both online and in-person, to help students not only achieve academic excellence but also foster their personal and social development.</p><div><br></div><p>The ideal candidate is passionate, able to connect with students to create a relationship of mutual trust, and adept at organizing and managing a diverse classroom, making learning an easy and meaningful process. The goal is to help cultivate the students’ interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.</p><div><br><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong><strong>:</strong></div><ul><li>Instruct students in private and/or group settings in ELA, Math, Science, and/or Social Studies.</li><li>Deliver interactive and engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of each student and stimulate children’s intellectual abilities.</li><li>Work closely with the Center Director and center staff to meet students' academic goals.</li><li>Assess students' performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills on a regular basis.</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong>General Responsibilities:</strong></div><ul><li>Adapt communication content and style to meet the diverse and distinct needs of students, employing a variety of activities and instructional methods to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities.</li><li>Keep detailed records of each student's tutoring sessions using Student Progress Records and/or relevant forms.</li><li>Utilize digital platforms like Zoom for developing and delivering online lessons.</li><li>Attend Teacher Team Meetings when announced and provide academic and curriculum support to the center teaching team when necessary.</li><li>Maintain an open line of communication with parents, providing timely and appropriate feedback on the student’s progress.</li><li>Build rapport with students, inviting participation, and valuing their contributions.</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong>Qualifications/Requirements:</strong></div><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree (in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, English, Education, or a related field) is preferred. Current college students pursuing their degree in education are highly encouraged to apply.</li><li>AP-level knowledge in Math, Science, Social Studies, and/or English is a plus.</li><li>Teacher certification is NOT required, but having one or in the process of attainment is a PLUS.</li><li>Proven working experience as a teacher/tutor is required.</li><li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>Available Mondays through Fridays starting from 2:30 PM. onward, and Saturdays from 9:30 AM is a MUST.</strong></li><li>Experience with students with IEPs preferred.</li><li>Ability to work independently and multi-task, with excellent classroom management skills.</li><li>Sets challenging goals and high standards, managing the learning environment with a student-centered focus.</li><li>Maintain current knowledge base and proactively seeks to stay up to date in subject area(s).</li></ul><div>The pay rate for this position is $30-$45 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.</div>
