Senior Software Engineer

With a mission to secure applications from development to production across diverse environments, Aqua is seeking an experienced and visionary Software Engineer to join our Platform Technologies Group.

In this role, you will shape the architectural foundation of Aqua’s SaaS Platform, with a special focus on designing scalable and resilient data models and system structures. You’ll drive architectural strategy and design decisions that enable data-driven insights, efficiency, and long-term platform scalability. You’ll collaborate with engineering, product, and research teams to define the evolution of our data ecosystem and ensure our architecture meets the demands of cutting-edge cloud-native security workloads.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop core systems and software infrastructures, collaborating with research, product, and open-source teams.
• Engage closely with engineers, researchers, product owners, and designers to identify and solve complex cybersecurity problems and spearhead the development of a new product line.
• Take complete ownership of projects, from initial definition and design to development, testing, and post-deployment.
• Construct multi-tenant scalable microservices deployed as part of our SaaS product.
• Operate within a CI/CD environment alongside experienced and talented engineers, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies.
• Plan and execute PoCs to evaluate new technologies and products.

About the Team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent engineering experience from a distinguished military unit.
• Over 6 years of experience in building software platforms from the ground up, designing full-stack scalable software products, preferably in Java or Go.
• Hands-on expertise in server-side/backend development for large-scale systems.
• Proficiency in both relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, AeroSpike).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and major cloud service providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Willingness to assume end-to-end responsibility for the product lifecycle: design, build, ship, measure, and maintain our backend services.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to lead and motivate.
• A collaborative team player with a proactive attitude.
