About the Role

As part of our Transmission Project Development Team, you’ll provide technical expertise on transmission lines projects, collaborating with internal stakeholders and Design & Construction Delivery Partners to ensure successful project outcomes. Your specialist knowledge of transmission line structures, foundations and construction will help drive efficient, future-focused solutions across brownfield and greenfield projects.

 

With a hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in Southbank, Melbourne and is part of the Project Development, Transmission Delivery Team.

 

 This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Technical Expertise – Provide engineering support for customer and company-initiated transmission projects
  • Design & Assessment – Develop scopes, review brownfield/greenfield designs, and ensure constructability, safety, and maintainability (PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE & TOWER)
  • Project Planning – Contribute to cost-effective business cases, supporting schedules, risk registers, and commercial offers
  • Standards & Improvements – Identify opportunities to enhance standards and improve engineering processes
  • Stakeholder Collaboration – Build strong relationships with internal teams and design service providers
  • Leadership & Mentoring – Lead, coach, and share expertise with team members
  • Estimations & Scheduling – Support development of accurate project estimates and timelines
  • Substation/Terminal station Projects – Assist in scoping, risk assessment, and commercial inputs for transmission substations

 

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Engineering Qualification – Tertiary degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Licensing – Full driver’s license and Registered Engineer in Victoria (RPEV) – or eligibility
  • Technical Expertise – Civil, Structural or Electrical engineering project experience around electricity networks and transmission lines
  • Software - PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and TOWER design software Proficiency
  • Project Leadership – Strong understanding of lifecycles, design, construction, and regulatory compliance
  • Communication Skills – Ability to simplify complex engineering analysis for non-engineers
  • Team Development – Proven capability in coaching, mentoring, and leading project teams
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Ability to build relationships across divisions and with external partners
  • Industry Involvement – Engineers Australia membership (or equivalent) preferred; regular local travel required
