Join Our Team as a Financial Counselor (Full-Time) - On-Site Role

Cary Medical Center is currently seeking a Full-time Financial Counselor to join our Patient Access Department. In this vital role, you’ll work directly with patients to collect self-pay payments, provide financial counseling, and support accurate reporting and organized account management.

Please note: This is an on-site position and requires physical presence at the facility.


Essential job duties, but not limited to:

  • Contact all overdue accounts with a priority on accounts over $300.00.
  • Make payment arrangements according to policy.
  • Consolidate accounts according to policy.
  • Counsel patients as needed and note on each account via the billing system.
  • Patient complaints are to be handled immediately or as soon as possible and according to policy.
  • Prepare Reports: Bad debt list (regular), free care list, Medicare bad debts, employee discounts, employee health and small balance adjustments.
  • Send payment reports, itemized bills and suit authorizations to collection agency.

Requirements


Education or License:  

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Availability Requirements:

  • Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
