Youth and Young Adult Mentor
Job Types: Part-time, 24-32 hours per week
Pay: From $17 an hour, $18 with Bachelor's. Additional increases offered for trainings, education, and experience.
All positions are part-time and Sundays are required (once or twice a month).

Young people struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma come to Telos from across the world to find help and healing. As a Mentor or Resident Advisor you will befriend, inspire, teach, and supervise the clients who live here. You will learn to help young people struggling with mental health challenges implement therapeutic tools in their lives. Duties include:
- Participate in healthy recreation with clients (rock climbing, skiing, hiking, etc.)
- Form inspiring relationships of trust that encourage healthy living
- Teach and mentor students through processing and skill-building
- Primarily responsible for the safety and supervision of students
- Helps clients implement therapy skills in day-to-day living
- Transportation of students
- Communicate and document observations with clients
- First aid response
SCHEDULE:
We are currently hiring for the following shifts:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 7am-3pm
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 3pm-11pm
Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday: 7am-3pm
Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday: 3pm-11pm
On-Call
Each shift includes Sundays, once or twice a month.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ideal for former athletes, coaches, military personnel, or those comfortable with confrontation and de-escalation
- Requires strong presence, emotional control, and ability to influence behavior in real time
- Exceptional relationship skills
- A tolerant, supportive view of the LGBTQI+ community.
- Must have the ability to hold appropriate boundaries with staff and students.
- Experience working with youth or young adults in the behavioral health field (required)
- Experience as a Mentor/Resident Advisor (required)
- Experience in a residential treatment center (preferred)

- The ability to handle constructive feedback
- Tolerance for a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment
