About the Role

General Managers, Legal Tech Business Unit

We are seeking a seasoned General Manager with a track record of scaling legal-tech businesses and driving transformational growth. You’ll own the P&L and lead go-to-market strategy for our Legal-tech business unit while building and energizing cross-functional teams in Sales, Marketing, R&D, Product, and Operations. As a senior leader reporting to the CEO, you’ll work closely with the broader C-suite - including the CRO, CTO and other senior executives—to position Verbit at the forefront of AI innovation and regulatory excellence in the legal space. Success requires deep familiarity with the legal ecosystem- including relationships with law firms and a strong grasp of their workflows, buying dynamics, and unmet needs. This is a fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Market Positioning

  • Define and execute a long-term strategy for the Legal Tech Business Unit, grounded in legal operations insights and emerging trends.
  • Leverage industry thought-leadership- hosting webinars, speaking at events, and publishing on legal-tech transformation.
  • Partner with Product to design, develop, and launch AI-powered solutions aligned with the long-term strategy.

Revenue & P&L Responsibility

  • Own the Business Unit’s financial health- revenue, margins, and overall profitability.
  • Collaborate with the CRO to architect differentiated sales models, pricing strategies, and market entry execution.
  • Cultivate and maintain senior relationships with law firms.

Operational Excellence

  • Utilize data and analytics to monitor performance, uncover opportunities, and drive accountability.
  • Lead continuous improvement across customer success functions.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build and coach a high-performing team across Sales, Product, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Foster a culture rooted in client obsession, innovation, accountability, and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Establish operational KPIs and institute transparent performance tracking and review rhythms.

Cross-Functional Alignment & Visibility

  • Represent the Legal tech business in executive forums, board updates, and industry conferences.
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Product, and Operations to ensure competitive positioning and cohesive messaging.
  • Report progress, risks, and outcomes to the CEO and executive team.

Qualifications

  • JD preferred; MBA or equivalent business experience also valued.
  • 8+ years in leadership roles within legal tech, SaaS or technology-enabled legal services- with documented success selling to law firms.
  • Proven P&L stewardship scaling high-growth business lines and driving revenue acceleration.
  • Deep domain expertise in legal operations, contract tech, AI-driven solutions, and regulatory landscapes.
  • Track record of innovation: launching legal tech labs, AI pilots, and strategic partnerships.
  • Thought leadership and ecosystem engagement: active speaker, network convener, with strong industry connections
  • Exceptional leadership and communication: capable of inspiring teams, influencing senior legal buyers, and managing cross-functional collaboration.
