Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Structural Engineer (Roads O&M) to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the Asset Management and thereby structural integrity and efficient maintenance of road infrastructure throughout the region.

  • Asset management of existing road infrastructure, including bridges, gantries, overpasses, and tunnels
  • Ability to set and develop criteria for condition scoring, analyse condition information collected through inspections and propose investment needs based on priority
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, considering appropriate corrective maintenance and planned preventative maintenance, to optimize the lifespan of structures assets
  • Analyze structural data and prepare comprehensive reports on infrastructure conditions
  • Propose rehabilitation projects for structures based on condition data and predicted deterioration
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated approaches to road operations and maintenance
  • Direct teams to inspect structures and manage records in a Bridge Management System
  • Manage projects efficiently, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints
  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices in structural engineering and road maintenance
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and technicians

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, specifically in roads operations and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of structures assets maintenance principles and practices, particularly in road infrastructure
  • Expertise in infrastructure asset management and structural integrity assessment
  • In-depth understanding of bridge and highway engineering principles
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals
  • Willingness to travel within Qatar for on-site inspections
