About the role

This role will see you providing engineering and technical support in the development of transmission terminal station projects, with specialist knowledge on the primary equipment and plant. You will work within a multi-discipline team, with internal stakeholders, and Design and Construction Delivery partners.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing technical support into Customer and Company initiated projects across AusNet’s Transmission network.
  • Applying primary technical engineering knowledge to ensure efficient solutions can be reached on complex design projects
  • Developing scopes and specifications for design and construction. Review and assess brownfield and greenfield electricity terminal station designs, providing technical input into rating, staging, constructability, operability, maintainability and safety in design
  • Identifying opportunities to develop new or improved standards and to ensure the timely delivery of efficient solutions of complex technical engineering designs and standards, taking ownership of process improvement initiatives and development of new methods where necessary
  • Lead, coach and mentor personnel within the team and share knowledge and experience 

 

About you

You don’t need to tick every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Detailed technical knowledge and extensive experience in electricity networks engineering
  • Detailed understanding of project lifecycles and application of engineering principals with extensive design and construction knowledge covering performance, functionality, operation, maintenance and risks
  • Extensive experience working in electricity substations engineering, project delivery and/or design role
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, coach, mentor, empower and support colleagues and team members to achieve common goals
