Head of Data Engineering

Are you our next Head of Data Engineering?

We are looking for a Head of Data to lead our data technology strategy, engineering, and platform development within R&D. In this role, you will own the design, evolution, and scalability of our data infrastructure to support the company’s growth and enable advanced research and product development.

You will lead a department of more than 100 data engineers in several locations, driving best practices in data modeling, pipelines, governance, and performance optimization.

What you will be doing:

• Lead and grow a department of data engineers, setting direction and ensuring delivery at scale.
• Participate and lead data transformation within the company
• Own the end-to-end design, development, and evolution of the company’s data infrastructure.
• Own production data systems to ensure performance and reliability.
• Define and implement best practices in data modeling, pipelines, governance, and performance optimization.
• Partner with product, architects, and business teams to align data initiatives with organizational priorities.
• Ensure data quality, accessibility, and reliability across systems and products.
• Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and approaches for large-scale data challenges.

Who we are looking for:

• 5+ years of experience in senior data engineering leadership roles.
• Proven experience leading distributed teams across multiple countries.
• Experience in leading teams through post-merger integration is a strong advantage.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and data stack tools such as SQL Server, Snowflake, DBT and Airflow.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Experience with Relational, Columnar, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with AWS cloud environment.
• Experience with message brokers such as Kafka or Kinesis for real-time data processing.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Independent, with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Strong initiative, a positive attitude, and exceptional attention to detail.
