Senior Staff Engineer, Food Systems (m/f/x)

In this role, you will shape the architectural vision, guide cross-functional teams, and actively contribute to codebases while mentoring the next generation of engineers. You’ll leverage your expertise in Java, Kotlin, Golang, React, and modern AI tools to build scalable, intelligent, and resilient systems.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2><strong>What you’ll do</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong>Architect and design</strong> large-scale distributed systems and platforms that integrate AI-driven solutions.</li> <li><strong>Stay hands-on </strong>with development in Java, Kotlin, Go, and React, delivering production-grade code and prototypes.</li> <li><strong>Evaluate, implement, and optimize </strong>AI/ML technologies, frameworks, and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, LLMs, vector databases, ML pipelines).</li> <li><strong>Champion AI </strong>integration into product features, developer tooling, and system automation.</li> <li><strong>Provide technical leadership</strong>,<strong> </strong>guidance, and mentorship to engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.</li> <li><strong>Lead design reviews</strong>, code reviews, and technical discussions, ensuring best practices in performance, scalability, and security.</li> <li><strong>Partner with</strong> product and business leaders to align technical strategies with organizational goals.</li> <li><strong>Promote </strong>modern engineering practices (CI/CD, DevOps, observability, infrastructure-as-code).</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2><strong>What you’ll bring</strong></h2> <ul> <li>10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in system/enterprise architecture.</li> <li>Strong expertise in Java and Kotlin backend systems.</li> <li>Proficiency in Go for distributed and high-performance services.</li> <li>Practical experience with React and modern frontend ecosystems.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks, LLM APIs, or AI infrastructure (cloud AI services, vector search, model deployment).</li> <li>Deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure), Kubernetes, and microservices.
