About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Engineer to join our dynamic team at ST Engineering Urban Solutions Ltd. The focus of this role is on Smart Security and Automation systems within the Commercial sector, supporting maintenance projects and daily operational activities.

 

About the Role:

As an Assistant Engineer in Smart Security & Automation, you will play a vital role in the maintenance and operation of cutting-edge smart security systems, including access control, CCTV surveillance, intrusion detection, and building automation technologies. You will work closely with experienced engineers and project managers to ensure seamless integration, efficient functioning, and timely resolution of technical issues. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in smart security solutions, contributing to safer, smarter commercial environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure, and maintain security systems, including access control, CCTV, and other related systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to security systems to minimize downtime and mitigate security risks.
  • Conduct regular checks and maintenance on security equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues early.
  • Keep security software and firmware up to date to address vulnerabilities and protect against threats.
  • Provide training to clients on the effective use and operation of security systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, updates, and issues for tracking system performance and audits.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., customer service, project teams) to address issues and ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Participate in or lead security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions.
  • Implement security measures and protocols to safeguard systems and data.
  • Respond to emergency site issues within the agreed-upon Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Track and prepare service reports for preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Submit service reports on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Coordinate with users and subcontractors.
  • Support integration testing, testing, and commissioning on-site.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Liaise with customers and subcontractors regarding all aspects of project-related activities.
  • Work strategically with minimal supervision

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of security systems (access control, CCTV, alarm systems), networking, and IT hardwar
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Capacity to analyze security risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients and colleagues.
  • A customer-centric approach to service delivery and problem resolution.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to tackle security challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in system engineering roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Creativity and adaptability in response to changing situations.
