Duties & Responsibilities 

•    Health and Safety Program
•    Maintain a high visibility in the plant through regular visits and personnel contacts
•    Member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee
•    Occupational Hygiene Program
•    Manage the annual Occupational Hygiene program including implementation of all recommendations
•    Resource/Advisory
•    Management resource to all employees on health and safety issues and particularly to line management            
•    Advise on all H&S issues that will impact on the company’s operations              
•    Keep abreast of legal developments and other issues in the health and safety areas         
•    Participate in HAZOPS studies
•    Develop/revising site procedures, standards, systems and programs as requested
•    Comment and communicate monthly health and safety reports including statistics at BRM
•    Participate in the investigation and issuing of all health and safety accidents reports
•    Monitor that all health and safety accidents are properly investigated, corrective actions implemented and effectiveness follow-up done
•    Emergency Response
•    Maintain an updated Evacuation Plan (Overall and Summary Plans)
•    Maintain contact with the local Fire Department
•    Ensure drills are completed per schedule
•    Training
•    Monitor that all employees receive the required health and safety training per schedule.
•    Indoctrinations
•    Manager the development of employee and contractor indoctrinations
•    Miscellaneous
•    Participate in Ministry of Labour visits
•    Prepare and monitor H&S budgets
•    Comply with the requirements of the Quality, Environmental and H&S Management Systems
       

Job requirements 


Education: Minimum: Community College (Engineering or Related Area) 
Preferred: Degree/Degree plus Designation 

Years of Experience: 5-10 years 

SAP Experience considered an Asset 
Strong communication skills, computer, troubleshooting, conflict resolution, leadership
