Description
Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and audit law firm generated prebills (or electronic submitted law firm invoices) for compliance with the insurance carriers’ guidelines through the utilization of an electronic billing system.
- Conduct line by line review of invoices to determine accuracy, reasonableness, and compliance with carrier guidelines.
- Identify billing discrepancies based on knowledge of carrier guidelines, industry standards, and litigation history.
- Educate timekeepers accordingly regarding insurance carriers’ guidelines.
- Utilize and create reports to determine timekeeper performance trends.
- Identify firm billing trends and elevate to management.
- Review invoices flagged for deductions or disputes by clients.
- Work closely with attorneys and timekeepers to gather information for appeals, ensuring that all billing entries are substantiated and properly documented.
- Collaborate with the billing department to adjust invoices based on appeal outcomes and ensure final bills are accurate.
- Billing Compliance Email Triage and Prioritization.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal or equivalent experience, preferably in insurance defense or coverage litigation.
- A minimum of two years paralegal (or equivalent) law firm experience, preferably in insurance defense or coverage litigation.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is beneficial.
- Experience reviewing, identifying trends, deductions, and auditing, or revising billing entries in the insurance defense industry.

Salary Description
$60,000 - $80,000
Physical Requirements
