About the Role

Job Title: Snow Removal Crew Leader

Reports To: Operations Manager / Site Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Snow Removal Crew Leader is responsible for leading a team of snow removal workers to ensure that assigned properties are cleared of snow and ice in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. This role requires hands-on work, supervision of crew members, operation of equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a snow removal crew during snow and ice events.

  • Operate equipment such as skid steers, loaders, snow blowers, and trucks with plows/salt spreaders.

  • Shovel, plow, and de-ice walkways, driveways, parking lots, and entrances.

  • Assign tasks and ensure all crew members are working efficiently and safely.

  • Monitor weather conditions and communicate updates to management.

  • Ensure equipment and tools are properly maintained and used correctly.

  • Maintain records of work completed, including time logs, material usage (salt, sand, etc.), and site conditions.

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients or site managers during snow operations.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in snow removal or landscaping (leadership experience preferred).

  • Ability to operate snow removal equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Physical ability to perform manual snow removal duties (lifting, shoveling, extended outdoor work).

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required for equipment/truck operation).

  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on weather events.

  • Knowledge of safe snow and ice removal practices.


Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor environment with exposure to cold, snow, and icy conditions.

  • Work hours depend on snowfall and weather conditions; on-call availability is required.

  • Fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
