Job Summary
Hinckley is seeking a motivated and experienced Outboard Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience servicing, diagnosing, and repairing outboard engines, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot complex electrical, fuel, and engine performance issues.
- Repairs: Perform skilled tasks in the service, repair, and maintenance of outboard engines.
- Product Lines: Proficient in various outboard engines such as Mercury, Honda, Evinrude, Suzuki, and Yamaha.
- Testing: Calibrate and fine-tune steering, throttle, and accessory systems. Maintain a detailed record of services.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to manufacturing safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
- Other: All duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience: Marine Technical/Vocational graduate and/or one (1) year of experience in marine mechanics or related field.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Certifications: Must hold a valid driver’s license. Engine-specific certification (preferred).
- Pre-Employment: All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of sterndrive, outboard repair, and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of electrical diagnostic tools and software.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems with all types of equipment.
- Willing and able to educate themselves with OEM technical training/requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
