About the role
- FIFO and DIDO options available
- Family friendly 2:2 roster
- Operate Sandvik DL421 and DL432i longhole drill rigs to drill upholes according to engineering layouts and charge plans.
- Set up drill rigs in stopes or drill stations with proper alignment, positioning, and jacking to achieve accurate hole orientation.
- Drill upholes to specified depth, diameter, and angle in accordance with longhole stope plans.
About you
- 2–4 years’ experience in underground Longhole drilling with a focus on upholes.
- Proven experience operating Sandvik DL421 and DL432i rigs, including use of automation and rig control systems (i.e., iSeries controls on DL432i).
- Solid understanding of longhole stoping methods and production drilling principles.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mine design plans, drill layouts, and stope instructions.
- Understanding of ground support practices and safe stope entry protocols.
- Certificate III or IV in Underground Metalliferous Mining (or equivalent) (desirable).
- Valid manual driver’s licence.
- High-risk work licence (desirable for EWP, forklift, or dogging).
- First Aid certification (desirable).
