About the Role

Description

Summary Description: 

Plans and performs jobs of installing and maintaining a variety of electrical equipment such as control panels, switchboards, junction boxes, switches, etc. Connect and disconnect electric powered machines; test motors and generators; replace fuses and set circuit breakers on high and low voltage circuits. Diagnoses electrical trouble. Uses hand and power tools. Works from wiring diagrams. Planning may involve determination of methods and sequence of operation and selection of materials to be used.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Motor wiring.
  • Heater wiring.
  • Machine wiring.
  • Transformer wiring.
  • Panel wiring.
  • Electrical panel layout and assembly.
  • Wire labeling. 
  • Enclosure cutting.
  • Sizing of wire and fusing.
  • Minor circuit testing using a DVM.
  • Conduit bending and threading. 
  • Electrical Equipment Installation.
  • Troubleshooting circuits.
  • KANBAN system - Maintain inventory.
  • Use of all shop tools.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Follow Lean manufacturing utilizing tools such as Kaizans, 5S, RIE’s and other work area standards.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic electrical knowledge. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret most documents.
  • Must demonstrate time management skills and self-manage behavior.
  • Must have the ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with co-workers and employees.
  • Basic NEC knowledge.
  • Circuit knowledge.
  • Appropriate electrical PPE.
  • LOTO procedures.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to then develop reasonable solutions.
  • Work with a team to continuously develop, implement, and refine best practice processes within the department.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply algebra.
  • Ability to work on-site at an ENTEK facility. This is not a remote position.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Education and Experience

  • State of Oregon General Journeyman Electrical license, OR State of Oregon Plant Journeyman Electrical License
  • 3+ years of job experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • computer skills, ability to multitask, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Industrial experience.
  • PLC and VFD experience.

Physical Requirements:

The following physical activities are necessary to perform the essential functions of this job.

  • The employee may be required to work 12.0-hour shifts, spending the majority of time on their feet.  
  • Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. If situations arise requiring lifting or moving of items exceeding 50 pounds, the employee must review it with the lead/supervisor to determine safe techniques to avoid injury. The employee must use proper lifting techniques when required to lift and/or move objects.
