About the Role

Salary: $22.85- $34.29

SUMMARY

Performs a wide variety of complex and confidential tasks that support the Legal Team and that require the exercise of independent judgment and discretion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

-Budget: Manages legal spend, assists in preparation of budgets and the payment of departmental expenses and outside counsel invoices. Develop and maintain database for tracking outside counsel billing across all matters

-Licensing: Support Manager of Legal Services in obtaining and maintaining warehouse and retail store licenses and permits (Federal, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut). Requires close coordination, and good relationships with businesses/local townships/licensing boards, all corporate departments (training, real estate, accounting, tax, pricing, category management, food safety, IT, store operations). Maintain corporate database and track licensing deadlines. Review, respond and maintain corporate database of regulatory inspections and violations issued.

-Corporate Governance Administration: Assist Manager of Legal Services with preparation and filing of mandatory annual and periodic filings with Secretary of State in states of incorporation and qualification. Manage registered agent accounts for service of process and route accordingly. Assist the Corporate Secretary with stock ledger reporting as necessary.

-Legal Correspondence: Assists Legal Department by managing, reviewing, and routing correspondence and legal documents; drafting letters and documents, collecting information, working with various departments where materials have been requested. Support Paralegal, as needed, with responses to subpoenas and legal process and provide litigation support (e.g., document production).

-Legal Files: Assist Paralegal in the creation and maintenance of (and produce upon request) contract management, litigation management and Legal Department files.

-Department Support: Provides clerical and administrative support to the Legal Department staff and the Chief Administrative Officer. Assist with tracking or producing legal due diligence for major transactions. Assist the Legal Department in responding to inquiries from internal and external auditors.

-Performs all other related duties as assigned by management and adheres to all company policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Satisfactory performance reviews.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Proficient with Word and Excel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Degree
  • Associates Degree or Paralegal Certificate Preferred
  • Notary Public License Preferred
  • Legal Experience.
