About the Role
<p>Bertke Electric, a leader in commercial and industrial electrical contracting since 1928, is seeking an experienced <strong>Electrical Estimator</strong> to join our Cincinnati-based team. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, interpreting project documentation, collaborating with project managers and clients, and ensuring that all electrical aspects of assigned projects are accurately priced, competitive, and aligned with client expectations and project timelines.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will bring strong estimating skills and a background in electrical systems for commercial and industrial facilities. Familiarity with electrical code requirements, value engineering, and risk management is essential.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Why Join Bertke Electric:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Be part of a company with nearly a century of excellence and reputation in the Greater Cincinnati region.</li> <li>Work on a variety of challenging and rewarding electrical projects across commercial and industrial sectors.</li> <li>Competitive compensation and benefits including health insurance, 401(k) match, and paid time off.</li> <li>Supportive and collaborative team environment with long-term career potential.</li> <li>Competitive Salary: $80,000-90,000</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Review drawings and specifications thoroughly; prepare and submit RFIs as needed.</li> <li>Perform full material and labor take-offs based on project RFP documentation.</li> <li>Obtain material pricing and vendor quotes through approved distribution channels.</li> <li>Source and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.</li> <li>Evaluate and document risk factors for each project bid.</li> <li>Use estimating software and company databases to analyze costs and create detailed estimates.</li> <li>Develop clear scope of work and accurate bill of materials.</li> <li>Create and submit professional, competitive proposals to clients.</li> <li>Conduct follow-ups with clients on outstanding proposals.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Participate in project handoff meetings with operations and project management teams upon</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and construction methods.</li> <li>Formal training in estimating software is preferred.</li> <li>Experience with estimating software (Accubid) strongly desired.</li> <li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; solid knowledge of Word, Teams, and other Microsoft Office applications.</li> <li>Experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional construction projects is a plus.</li> <li>Strong mathematical and analytical skills.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines effectively.</li> <li>Clear communication and collaboration skills with both internal teams and external clients.</li> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li> <li>Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.</li> <li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably within commercial or industrial construction environments.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Equal Opportunity Employer:</strong> Bertke Electric Co. is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
