About the Role

Description

  • Conduct thorough inspections and preventive maintenance on complex industrial equipment and systems to identify potential issues before they escalate.
  • Employ diagnostic methodologies to troubleshoot and resolve intricate electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic failures in machinery and equipment, utilizing advanced problem-solving techniques.
  • Execute precision repairs and maintenance on critical machinery, including motors, pumps, conveyors, and automated systems, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Install, repair, and optimize HVAC systems to ensure energy efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Perform advanced plumbing repairs and installations, including the design and modification of piping systems and fixtures to meet operational needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize operational downtime, employing strong project management skills.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory management using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Uphold stringent safety protocols and maintain a systematic approach to work area organization, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians and apprentices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Participate in training programs to keep skills up-to-date with new technologies and practices.

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair various types of industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and safety regulations, including but not limited to LOTO.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Education/Experience/Certifications/Licenses

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education in Industrial Maintenance, a trade such as electrical, welding, mechanical, plumbing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment.

Typical Physical and Mental Demands/Work Environment: Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing facility and occasionally seated in an office. May involve working under deadlines. Requires: broad range of physical and mental activities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position:

Typical tools, equipment and machinery utilized include saws (table, panel and radial arm), routers, grinder, manual and power hand tools, micrometers, tape measures, scales, air hoses, calculator, computer, overhead vacuum lift computers and accessories, applicable computer programs and software, printers and copiers, telecommunication equipment, and general office supplies. The position involves full shifts in an environment with extreme temperatures exceeding 100°F during summer months.
