About the Role

Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (JASM) is a subsidiary established in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, with a majority investment from TSMC. Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation, DENSO Corporation, and Toyota Motor Corporation participate as minority shareholders. JASM was established as TSMC's first manufacturing site in Japan to meet the globally robust demand for semiconductors. JASM will support customers with the highest standards of specialty semiconductor technology, promote innovation across all industrial sectors in Japan, including automotive and image sensors, and contribute to the revitalization of the Japanese economy.  

 

Within the TSMC Group, "Proprietary Information Protection (PIP)" is a fundamental and critical concept for maintaining its overwhelming competitive advantage. This Security Manager position plays a core role in maintaining and upholding PIP at JASM.  

We are seeking a strategic partner who can collaboratively drive this extremely critical mission: to robustly protect JASM's confidential information and intellectual property while working closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, at the forefront of semiconductor manufacturing.  

 

Job Responsibilities (at time of hire)  

  • Planning, operation, and improvement of security measures Installation, management, and operation of security equipment
  • Risk reduction through access control
  • Risk reduction of leakage, theft, and loss through inventory management
  • Development and implementation of emergency response plans, facility security plans, and crisis management procedures
  • Development and operation of security policies
  • Management of security-related budget, staffing, and resource planning
  • Measurement and reporting of security service effectiveness
  • Implementation of security responses during VIP visits, including government officials
  • Recruitment, training, guidance, and management of employees, outsourced personnel, and vendors
  • Development and oversight of crisis management, disaster response, and business continuity plans

Required Qualifications  

  • Security Management Experience: Practical experience (approximately 5 years or more) in one or more areas such as information security, physical security, IT management, or crisis management, with comprehensive knowledge of security in general.
  • Management Experience: Experience leading teams or projects, with the ability to develop and mentor team members and drive towards goal achievement.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate smoothly with internal and external stakeholders and build cross-functional collaborative relationships.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Possesses logical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to lead complex problems to resolution.
  • Eagerness to Learn and Adaptability: Actively acquires new knowledge and technologies and can flexibly adapt to changing environments.
  • Basic PC Skills: Proficient in creating documents, analyzing data, and managing documents using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Japanese: Business level or higher (capable of smooth communication with internal and external parties)
    • English: Business level or higher (capable of communication with TSMC headquarters and overseas vendors)
  • Education: University graduate or higher (science/engineering degree preferred)  

 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Information security certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM, etc.) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in Chinese (Taiwanese) is a plus. 
  • Experience working at a foreign-affiliated company (especially in manufacturing) is a plus. 

 

Working Conditions
1. Location: (Immediately after hiring) 4106-1 Haramizu, Kikuyou-machi, Kikuchi-gun, Kumamoto, 869-1102  (Scope of Change) Location determined by the Company
2. Working Hours: 8:30~17:30
3. Holidays/Vacations: Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays / GW vacation, Year-end and New Year vacations *Follows the vacation regulations according to the company calendar
