Several members of our Quality Assurance Department are also certified in various NDT (nondestructive testing) processes per ASNT SNT TC-1a. With these certifications, Alloy Engineering can develop all necessary or required weld procedures, depending on the application, to produce the highest quality welded, fabricated product and certify 100% compliance.
About the Role

Description

Alloy Engineering, a 100% Employee-Owned Company in Berea, OH, seeks a skilled and experienced Brake Press Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines according to company guidelines using precise specifications. The Brake Press Operator plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the fabrication processes run smoothly and efficiently. The operator's skills and dedication directly impact the quality of the products produced.#ZR

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and prepare press brake machines by selecting and aligning dies in the machine ram.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and production orders to determine required dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
  • Calculate bend allowances, determine proper tonnage requirements, and select the appropriate press brake machine settings.
  • Load and unload materials into the press brake machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
  • Position and secure workpieces onto the machine bed using clamps, bolts, or other fixtures.
  • Measure circular, angular, and linear dimensions on diagrams.
  • Measure accurately to 1/16 inch using a tape measure.
  • Knowledge of using manual tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • Experience with Cincinnati press brakes or Steelwell machines is ideal. ( Mechanical & Hydraulic )
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating a press brake, rolls, or other fabrication equipment.
  • Knowledge of the fabrication process.
  • Strong proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Intermediate math skills, including geometry, and must be able to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
  • Able to calculate dimensions, angles, and tolerances (Algebra 1)
  • Ability to select appropriate forming dies and set up machines independently.
  • Familiarity with various press brake machine controls and settings.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • The position requires standing most of the time, some lifting of 25 to 50 pounds, and pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching as needed.
  • Steel-toe boots and safety glasses are required and will be reimbursed if needed.
  • The plant facility does not have air conditioning.

Schedule:

  • 10-hour shift (1st shift 6 am-4:30 pm and 2nd shift 4 pm-2 am) 56 hours a week 2 Saturdays a month if needed
