Several members of our Quality Assurance Department are also certified in various NDT (nondestructive testing) processes per ASNT SNT TC-1a. With these certifications, Alloy Engineering can develop all necessary or required weld procedures, depending on the application, to produce the highest quality welded, fabricated product and certify 100% compliance.
About the Role

Description

Alloy Engineering, located in Berea,  is actively hiring an experienced Welder to join our team of skilled trades professionals in a custom metal fabrication environment. The welder must have a strong background in MIG and TIG welding, who can plan, lay out, and perform advanced welding operations on stainless steel and high-performance nickel-based alloys. #ZR


As a Fabrication Welder, you will weld in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions, interpret technical blueprints, and contribute to the production of high-quality, made-to-order pressure vessels, furnace components, and industrial equipment.


Essential Functions:

  • Performs GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding on different types of materials (steel, stainless, and nickel alloys).
  • Works on traditional projects and can perform most fit-ups that AECO requires.
  • Understands advanced blueprint reading and welding symbol interpretation.
  • Works independently regularly, and judgment can be trusted.
  • Understands time expectations, and most jobs are completed within time estimates.

Competencies and Attributes Needed:

  • Workmanship must meet or exceed ASME and AWS requirements.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Accountability on projects with little oversight on non-ASME projects.
  • Passion to learn and grow.
  • Accountability to the team by holding to attendance requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of MIG and TIG experience.
  • Experience with basic welding principles and symbols.
  • Understand how to read blueprints.
  • Basic math skills: convert fractions into decimals.
  • Performs GMAW and GTAW welding with at least one certification.
  • Proficient with measuring tools; use a tape measure, micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Operating a forklift or overhead crane is preferred.
  • Must have your own basic tools (crescent wrench, tape measure, combination square, wire cutters, weld hood, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

  • The position demands physical endurance, which encompasses:
  • Predominantly standing.
  • Occasional lifting (weights ranging from 25 to 50 pounds).
  • Tasks may also involve pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching as required.
  • A standard shift duration is ten hours daily.
  • Safety requirements include wearing steel-toe boots and safety glasses.

Note: The plant facility is not equipped with air conditioning.
