About the Role

Description

Texas Biomed is searching for an IACUC Coordinator I with excellent expertise in various regulatory committee policies and procedures to help evaluate all aspects of the institute’s animal care and use program. 


The Role: 

· Manages online training for committee members and investigators.

· Responsible for maintaining an accurate database relative to the IACUC Committee.

· Assists with monthly inspection of animal facilities and laboratories, as required. Coordinates inspections with committee members.

· Prepares agendas, follow-up correspondence, and minutes of the meetings of various committees.

· Prepares correspondence, reports, memoranda and similar items related to the needs of the IACUC and other Committees.

· Communicates with IACUC Committee Members and Faculty on new policies, practices,

· requirements, and/or recommendations to change current policies or add new policies.

· Coordinates preparations and schedules meetings, and similar executive functions by coordinating the necessary administrative details.

· Works closely with IACUC Chair and/or Vice-Chair and the Regulatory Compliance Manager in conjunction with the IACUC Committee to ensure compliance with Federal Regulations regarding the care and use of animals.


Our Ideal Candidate: 

· High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IACUC administration or research compliance.

• Strong knowledge of federal regulations governing animal research (USDA, AAALAC, OLAW).

• Experience with protocol management systems and electronic submission platforms.

· Certified Professional IACUC Administrator (CPIA) preferred.
