Building Support Worker

Location: June Leonard Place - Renton, WA

Hours: Thursday-Monday 12:00AM-8:00AM

Reports To:  Area Manager

Pay Range: $22.71-28.34

Position Type: Non-exempt, unionized position (OPEIU 8).


The Building Support Worker duties are primarily security duties for a building with 24/7 staff.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Foster a safe, clean and peaceful environment.
  2. Provide an onsite presence mainly at the reception desk monitoring the building through security camera and   monitoring the people as they enter and exit the building.   The purpose is to assist with deterring theft, violence, vandalism, illegal activities or infractions of property rules.
  3. Enforce house rules and guest policies.
  4. Monitor individuals entering and exiting the property.
  5. Monitor activities and appearance of the common areas – entry, hallways, bathrooms and community rooms.
  6. Respond to residents’ concerns and questions regarding the building.
  7. Respond to emergencies on site, being on-call with a cell phone and performing grounds checks.  Call 911 in case of emergencies such as fire or injuries.  Alert LIHI staff and management of incidents, safety concerns and other related issues.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  1. One year property security experience.
  2. Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  3. Experience working with low-income people.
  4. Good communication skills.
  5. Must pass criminal background and drug test.
