The Territory Sales Manager will represent and sell Ruud HVAC equipment to residential and light commercial contractors, focusing on sales growth and maintaining customer relationships. The position represents and sells Ruud HVAC equipment to residential and light commercial contractors. The position is to develop sales growth and profitability and to maintain relationships within an assigned customer base of business to business sales in residential and light commercial HVAC contracting. These accounts will have focus on satisfaction with our products and services while also keeping vendor relations and store support.
The first year will be non-commission and transitioning in the second year to salary draw plus commissions.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Contact Customers through, but not limited to, in person, phone calls, email, mailings, fax to communicate opportunities and to extend initiatives with the company.
- Prospecting, qualifying and generating sales within our established and potential Customer Base.
- Act as liaison for internal and external communications with assigned accounts.
- Manage a positive relationship with assigned accounts.
- Provide regular status reports and manage task lists on assigned accounts progress for all project areas.
- Provide consultation and product support to consumers.
- Engage in technical discussions with established and potential customers
- Identify and close additional purchases of products and services by customers.
- Interfacing with Company senior management in the development of strategic planning, sales and marketing programs.
- Attends sales meetings and reviews sales activity and progress monthly with management.
- Maintains records of sales and account activity, customer information, and requests.
- Qualifications and Skills
Position requires a high energy, result oriented, self-motivated person with the ability to gain territory market share with an immediate sense of urgency and accomplishment.
College degree preferred and one (1) year relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job. Candidate must have proven HVAC sales experience. Must be customer driven and company minded with strong sales, marketing, and interpersonal skills.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: Superior knowledge of accessing and using the Internet, and MS Office (Word and Excel, including communication tools and software such as Outlook. Ability to sense and relate observations to business opportunity. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral. Ability to work independently. Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization.
Completion of criminal background and pre-employment drug screen required.
