About the Role
Manage the Recovery Roadmap: Drive the Global Warranty Chargeback (GWC) recovery process for your assigned commodities, owning the financial recovery target and maintaining an accurate project roadmap in the UnWRec database. Lead Liability Negotiations: Support the analyzation of warranty claims and technical data to determine supplier liability. Lead negotiations with suppliers to agree on cost-sharing "Acceptance Factors" and execute chargeback agreements. Execute Financial Recovery: Prepare initial debit packages and collaborate with Debit Analysts to ensure the successful execution of recurring payments, resolving any supplier disputes that arise. Drive Technical Problem Solving: Support the resolution of technical field concerns using the 8D problem-solving methodology, driving the escalation process between Product Development and Purchasing when necessary. Collaborate on Part Analysis: Initiate and participate in part testing and failure analysis alongside Product Development engineers, supplier representatives, and GWC Technicians in a UAW facility. Promote Continuous Improvement: Identify systemic issues from warranty data and initiate Green Belt / Black Belt projects to drive long-term quality improvements. Communicate with Leadership: Present recovery status, roadmap updates, and business cases to various management forums, effectively communicating complex financial and technical information. Established and active employee resource groups 5+ years of experience in an automotive quality, product development, launch, or manufacturing plant environment. Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis and warranty systems (e.g., GCQIS/GSAR, WPAC, UnWRec) and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, DMAIC). Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform financial analysis, create data-driven reports, and present findings using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent negotiation, team-building, and communication skills, with proven experience working in cross-functional and global teams. A strong understanding of quality indicators, lean principles, and a demonstrated commitment to problem-solving. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification. Direct experience working for an automotive Tier 1 supplier, particularly in a quality, warranty, or customer-facing role. Advanced financial acumen, including experience with cost modeling or direct involvement in commercial negotiations with purchasing teams. Familiarity with automotive supplier contracts, commercial terms and conditions (T&Cs), and the legal framework governing warranty agreements.
