About the Role

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Plant Mechanic will join our Perth Branch team on a full-time permanent basis. You will be working on a variety of equipment, from the newest ground-breaking Caterpillar technology to working on Caterpillar legacy equipment.


The Perth Branch WesTrac specializes in providing cutting-edge machinery solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the construction industry. Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative, reliable, and efficient Caterpillar equipment and service to enhance operational productivity and safety.


Roster: 
5 days on, 2 days off – 10.5 hours (including a meal break)
2 weeks day shift - 06:00am-16:30pm
1 week afternoon shift - 15:00pm-01:30am


What You’ll Do: 
•    Servicing and maintenance on Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment, including WesTrac’s rental and used     
     equipment fleet
•    Diagnostic testing and repairs
•    Variety of warranty repairs
•    Promote, encourage and monitor safety to a high standard within the team
•    Opportunity to back fill field service when required


Skills & Experience: 
•    Australian Recognised Trade Certificate (Heavy Mobile Plant Technology)
•    Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining high safety standards
•    CAT equipment experience is highly desirable
•    Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical problems efficiently
•    Ability to work on various types of machinery and adapt to new technologies and methods
•    Precision in assembling, testing, and maintaining equipment to ensure safety and performance standards are 
     met.
