We were founded in partnership with PAG, one of the world's largest Asia-focused alternative asset managers, and we have been operational since 2019.<br><br><strong>Job Brief</strong></div><div>We are seeking a seasoned data center engineer to lead the end-to-end design, procurement, deployment of data center projects. You will partner with our consultants, select vendors, oversee implementation, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deploy or migrate workloads, all while ensuring security, compliance, and operational excellence.</div><div><br></div><div><strong>Responsibilities</strong></div><ul><li>End-to-end project leadership for data center build-out</li><li>Collaborate with local consultants to gather site requirements, review and vet mechanical, electrical, and architectural designs</li><li>Lead RFP process for power, cooling, rack/caging, network, security, and monitoring systems; select and manage vendors</li><li>Define network architecture and integrate with existing cloud</li><li>Architect and deploy high-performance storage and database clusters on bare-metal hardware</li><li>Develop migration plan from exsiting cloud to owned facilities</li><li>Implement neccessary security controls in accordance with financial regulations</li><li>Establish operational procedures: capacity planning, fleet management, incident response, DR/BCP</li><li>Create budgets, forecasts, and ROI models; monitor spend vs. cost-savings targets relative to current cloud spend</li><li>Mentor and coordinate with in-house engineers to hand off for ongoing operations</li></ul><div><strong>Required Qualifications & Experience</strong></div><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)</li><li>8+ years of data-center design & build experience, with at least two facilities delivered from 0→1</li><li>Deep expertise in:<ul><li>Power distribution & UPS systems</li><li>Cooling</li><li>Racking, cable management, and airflow containment</li><li>Network backbone design</li></ul></li><li>Hands-on experience with bare-metal server provisioning, virtualization (e.g. KVM, VMware)</li><li>Strong background in storage and database performance tuning (PostgreSQL, KDB)</li><li>Proven ability to manage budgets, vendor contracts, and project schedules</li><li>Excellent communication skills; able to translate between business, financial, and technical stakeholders</li><li>Willingness to travel to the local data centers when needed</li></ul><div><strong>Preferred Skills</strong></div><ul><li>Prior experience in financial services or hedge-fund infrastructure, especially colo infra</li><li>Familiarity with cloud-to-on-prem migrations and hybrid cloud networking</li><li>Fluency in English</li></ul><div><strong>Why join us?</strong><br>You'll work full-time in our centrally located office in the heart of Taipei, alongside a team of highly driven professionals eager to learn and develop their skills.
