In this role, you will provide management and support for e-discovery and preservation.&nbsp; You will report to our Director, Litigation.</p> <p>Location: The position is seated at Roblox Headquarters in San Mateo, CA. Roblox’s mandatory in-office days are Tuesday through Thursday with optional in-office days on Monday and Friday.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>You will:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Legal Hold &amp; Preservation:</li> <ul> <li>Manage and refine the company’s legal hold process, ensuring compliance across all data sources, while “right-sizing” legal holds to avoid unnecessary retention and associated costs</li> <li>Work with IT and business units to ensure defensible preservation of relevant ESI.</li> </ul> <li>Collection &amp; Processing:</li> <ul> <li>Consult with internal teams and outside counsel to develop and execute targeted, defensible data collection strategies.</li> <li>Oversee the transfer, processing, and ingestion of ESI into review platforms</li> <li>Refine discovery plans and processes, including document review, privilege logs, and team coordination.</li> <li>Coordination of discovery across matters to create efficiencies</li> </ul> <li>Budget &amp; Vendor Management:</li> <ul> <li>Track and manage e-discovery costs, ensuring projects are completed within budget.</li> <li>Act as the primary liaison and relationship manager for e-discovery service providers (vendors, forensic experts).</li> </ul> <li>Consultation &amp; Training:</li> <ul> <li>Maintain and update internal e-discovery playbooks, policies, and best practices documentation.</li> <li>Provide expert advice to litigation teams, internal business units, and executive leadership on all e-discovery matters and associated risks.</li> <li>Conduct internal training on litigation readiness and preservation best practices.</li> </ul> <li>Assist other members of the Litigation team with discovery-related tasks as needed.</li> </ul> <p><strong><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">You have:</span></strong></p> <ul class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstList"> <li class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated"><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">Dedicated, hands-on experience practicing e-discovery, either at a law firm, e-discovery service provider, or as in-house counsel.</span></li> <li class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated"><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">4+ years of discovery experience, including working with technology companies either in-house or as outside counsel (experience in a fast-paced and dynamic organization preferred).</span></li> <li class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated"><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">Demonstrated technical proficiency regarding common data sources and e-discovery tools (e.g., Relativity, DISCO).</span></li> <li class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated"><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">Experience providing advice on preservation and collection of customer data from proprietary systems.</span></li> <li class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated"><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">Experience in drafting and negotiating ESI protocols and protective orders.</span></li> <li class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated"><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">Excellent judgment, discretion, and risk assessment, with a demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.</span></li> <li class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated"><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">Exceptional communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.</span></li> <li class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated"><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">Practical business acumen, driving pragmatic business-oriented solutions.</span></li> <li class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated"><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">A highly approachable, collegial, and collaborative approach.</span></li> <li class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated"><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">Accountable and proactive self-starter, comfortable working independently.</span></li> <li class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated"><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">Superb organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once.</span></li> <li class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated"><span class="appsElementsGenerativeaiAstAnimated">A Member in good standing of the California Bar or another bar association with the ability to register as in-house counsel in California.</span></li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand.
