About the Role

Design, develop, and maintain Linux features for Guest VMs running on the Azure infrastructure. Enhance and support Linux Hyper-V drivers to ensure performance, stability, and reliability. Contribute to the development and maintenance of ARM64-based Azure offerings for Guest VMs. Enhancements and maintenance for Confidential Computing Guest VM offerings on Azure. Collaborate closely with the Linux kernel upstream community to upstream new features and improvements. Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature. Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight. With guidance, learns to create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable. Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation. Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook. Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 1+ years of experience with programming skills in C/C++ and concepts in virtualization technologies like KVM, Hyper-V, XEN, Qemu, Cloud Hypervisor 1+ years of experience with Linux internals, including process management, file systems, networking and their relation to virtualization concepts. 1+ years of experience with kernel-space vs. user-space concepts Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, OR Python OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. 1+ years of experience with Git and standard development workflows 1+ years of experience with Linux kernel development, device drivers, or embedded systems.
