In Valmet’s pulp mills business unit we develop, sell and deliver products to pulp and paper customers globally. Recovery boilers are one of our main products. We are looking for a Product Engineer for Recovery Boilers to be located in Tampere or Vantaa. This is a fixed-term position until end of December 2026.
As the Product Engineer, you are a process and product expert and a member of international sales and project teams. You work closely with our customers and with several internal stakeholders around the world.
The key tasks and responsibilities for this role include
developing process concepts based on customer needs
process engineering and dimensioning in sales and delivery projects
meetings and technical negotiations with customers and subcontractors
preparation of technical proposals and technical documents during projects
participation in operator training, HAZOP and guarantee tests
Expectations
In this role we expect you to hold a M.Sc. degree on thermal, energy and environmental, chemical or process engineering. You have strong understanding on boiler processes and at least two years’ technical experience in a similar position within the industry.
We appreciate a team player with a positive can-do attitude. You are willing to work closely with our customers. We appreciate a result-oriented, customer-focused team player and you need to be able to travel frequently. You understand the big picture, but on the other hand you are also capable of very detailed calculation work. You have strong communication skills in English. Finnish language skills are considered a plus.
To be successful in this position, you plan and prioritize your own work independently, but also know when to reach out for information and support. You are able to work as a proactive team member and provide technical recommendations to our key customers. You have a systematic way of working and reporting.
