About the Role

Description

Our company is seeking an experienced Melter/Furnace Operator to join our 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM team. In this role, you will be responsible for melting and pouring aluminum and magnesium into sand molds, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and the ability to understand and follow all safety procedures.
  • Possess a technical understanding of furnace operations and components. - Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on furnace equipment.
  • Monitor temperatures, pressures, and other critical parameters effectively.
  • Maintain accurate logs of operations, maintenance, and safety checks.
  • Apply basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to furnace operations.
  • Perform manual labor and stand for long periods.
  • Collaborate effectively with other operators and staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in pouring or foundry work
  • Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
