The Patient Admissions Clerk is responsible for answering phone calls, registering patients, and managing patient information. Additional duties include handling payments and assisting with billing inquiries.

Mission of Department: To maintain quality healthcare records and to meet or exceed our customer expectations.
Purpose of Position: To provide Mission of Department and perform essential functions listed below.
Essential Functions:
1. Answer phone calls efficiently and transfer to appropriate department or personnel.
2. Helps register all patients, in-patient and out-patient, to include specialty clinic
services. Obtain and verify all patient demographics for these services, and update
patient information in computer system.
3. Receipt private pay payments when received at front desk.
4. File miscellaneous office papers.
5. Answer questions regarding patient account balances if possible, or transfer to
appropriate insurance biller.
Requirements
Education, Qualifications, Experience:
1. High School graduate or equivalent
2. Computer experience required
3. Basic accounting is helpful
4. Experience in working with the public is also helpful.

professional manner.
2. Portray an appearance that is neat, clean, and professional.

Equipment:
Be able to use computer, copy machine, fax machine, and calculator.
Expectation of Service: This is a non-exempt 40 hour per week position. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Physical Requirements: This position requires continual sitting and typing at a computer terminal, some walking, bending, stooping, and lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to read, write, hear and understand electronic verbally transcribed information.
