About the Role

Description Performs overall control of database tier of the environment including interfacing between internal and external applications. Managing the Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes, ensures data is cleansed. Note: This position will require attendance to meetings at the Pentagon on a regular basis.   Required Qualifications <ul> <li>Active or Current DOD Secret Clearance</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering or Business, or other relevant field</li> <li>Minimum 10 years of experience in computer programming, systems analysis, or systems engineering</li> <li>DBA experience with 5 years of experience of Oracle database administration to include 1 year experience with Oracle 12c administration</li> <li>Database backup, server migration, optimization, and capacity planning and integrity routines.</li> <li>Must possess extensive knowledge of procedure performance tuning and troubleshooting.</li> <li>Must have data modeling experience.</li> <li>Possess 2 or more years of experience with Army or OSD PPB data models</li> <li>Knowledge of XML, Web Services, and DBMS data access.</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of database design and implementation</li> <li>Strong understanding of database management and data analysis techniques.</li> <li>Must have technical experience with Planning, Programming, and Budgeting (PPB) processes and systems.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with stakeholders to gather requirements.</li> <li>Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.</li> <li>Experience working with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements.</li> <li>Current Security + Certification</li> </ul> Desired Qualifications <ul> <li>Proficiency in preparing detailed specifications for databases and assisting in the design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of databases for Army systems.</li> <li>Certification in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g., ITIL, Agile, PMP, Oracle).</li> <li>Familiarity with cloud computing and modern application architecture.</li> <li>Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.</li> </ul> Key Responsibilities The Database Specialst (Senior) is a Key Personnel role that performs overall control of database tier of the environment including interfacing between internal and external applications.
