As a Deburring Operator, you will be responsible for the close tolerance deburring and buffing of parts according to process and customer requirements. You will also conduct inspections to verify the quality of finished workpieces and notify supervision of any issues that arise.

We are seeking a Deburring Operator for the buffing and deburring of parts, as well as other associated manufacturing processes (such as part cleaning).
So, what will you be doing as a Deburring Operator
- Close tolerance deburring of parts in accordance with process and customer requirements.
- Part buffing in accordance with process and customer requirements.
- Completing other processes that may be associated with buffing and deburring of parts, such as part cleaning.
- If an issue arises with meeting labor requirements, identify the issue to supervision.
- Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools.
- Verify quality of finished workpieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates.
- Move controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during grinding and polishing processes.
- Remove completed workpieces from equipment or worktables, using hand tools, and place workpieces in containers.
- Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.
- Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
- Notify supervisor of any issues that arise.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize workday/projects independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
- Ability to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
- Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
- Ability to accurately complete manufacturing paperwork and to effectively use the MRP system.
- Ability to understand schedule requirements and execute processes to a schedule.
- Ability to understand labor requirements on manufacturing paperwork and execute to same.
- Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- 2 years’ experience manually deburring close tolerance parts using various methods; to include hand grinders, buffing jacks, & speed lathe.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
