About the Role

Overview

Presbyterian is seeking an RN to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an Outpatient Clinic. Common responsibilities include preparing the patient for the visit, maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting the provider with treatments and procedures, medication administration, support for clerical functions to include scheduling, referrals, authorization and in-basket support with the EMR.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in nursing
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
  • BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire

Responsibilities

  • Determines patient acuity and makes placement decisions for patients who are not able to be roomed on arrival.
  • Identifies patient visit preparation needs based on patient preparation guidelines to include initiating POCT and radiology tests in collaboration with medical provider.
  • Coordinates patients care through collaboration with the patient, family and healthcare team.
  • Delegates patient care activities to healthcare team members commensurate with their validated competency to perform the task.
  • Assists with treatments and administers medication within protocols approved by medical staff and as ordered by medical provider.
  • Assists Providers with various procedures.
  • Other duties as required
