About the Role

Department/ Unit: Department of Geography and Resource Management

The Department of Geography and Resource Management is recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant. Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree (preferably a good Master's degree with some relevant teaching experience); (ii) a background in geoinformation science and remote sensing; and (iii) a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); (iv) a proactive work attitude, a strong sense of responsibility, and good interpersonal skills; (v) solid knowledge of project management and computer applications with good organizational and problem-solving skills.

 

The appointee will provide assistance for the MSc programme in Geoinformation Science and Smart Cities and the MSSc programme in Sustainable Tourism. Duties include (a) conducting and coordinating work for teaching support and programme administration; (b) assisting in tutorials, field trips, laboratory/practical classes, preparation of course materials/classes, student consultation/supervision; (c) managing the programme websites and other related social media platforms, and (d) taking up other academic activities and administrative duties as assigned.

 

Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to one year initially, commencing January 2026 or as soon as practicable thereafter, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
