About the Role

Finance Office
Executive Officer II (carrying the job title of ‘Assistant Finance Manager’) / Project Co-ordinator II 
Business Unit of the Finance Office is in charge of a wide portfolio of administrative services, including facilitating the University’s procurements, managing insurance policies and co-ordinating claims, enforcing the University’s control policies on fixed asset management, staff quarters administration, gown rental, canteen management, mail service, etc. Applications are invited for a challenging position of Executive Officer II / Project Co-ordinator II.
 

The appointee will be assisted by a small team under his/her supervision and responsible for (a) vetting procurement requests from department users to ensure compliance with the University’s guidelines; (b) supporting the administration of the University’s tendering matters; (c) supervising insurance claims and co-ordinating insurance matters with users, insurance brokers and insurers; (d) co-ordinating and monitoring contractor for the University’s gown rental arrangements; (e) supporting committees, such as Tender Board, Insurance Board, and various management committees; and (f) performing other duties as assigned.
 

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Management and/or Economics; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo (for Executive Officer II); (iii) at least 3 years’ post-qualification relevant executive experience, preferably with procurement and insurance experience; (iv) strong business acumen and a service-oriented work attitude; (v) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (vi) self-motivation, good multi-tasking skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team; (vii) excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills; and (viii) a friendly and positive work attitude. Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment as Project Co-ordinator II. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
