About the Role

The Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care is seeking Research Assistant(s) or Junior Research Assistant(s) to support a range of ongoing projects in the areas of intensive care practices, bioethics, and healthcare education. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in social sciences, nursing, public health, or related healthcare fields who are passionate about applied research in clinical and academic settings.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Science, Social Sciences, Nursing, Public Health); (ii) demonstrated interest or coursework in program evaluation or health services research; (iii) strong organisational and communication skills; and (iv) the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic research environment. Basic proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, NVivo, Excel) is highly preferred.

The appointee(s) will work at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin and be responsible for (a) coordinating and supporting program evaluation projects, including planning, data collection, and logistics; (b) conducting qualitative and quantitative data entry, management, and preliminary analysis; (c) assisting in preparing ethics applications, grant proposals, and progress reports; (d) supporting manuscript drafting and literature reviews under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI); (e) providing teaching assistance and administrative support related to research and education; and (f) preforming additional research and departmental duties as assigned.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for eighteen months commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
