About the Role

Office for Greater Bay Area Developments
Executive Officer II 
The University established the Hong Kong Polar Science Innovation Centre (HKPSIC), with executive support provided by the Office for Greater Bay Area Developments (GBAO). To support the development and implementation of HKPSIC’s initiatives, particularly communications and interactions with the China Polar Research Centre and partners in polar-related activities, the post of Executive Officer II is now open for application.
 

Reporting to the Director of the HKPSIC or their designate (provisionally the Director of GBAO), the appointee will be responsible for (a) providing secretariat support to designated committees and management meetings, including scheduling, logistical coordination, and preparation of minutes and reports for governing bodies and stakeholders; (b) assisting in internal and external research grant applications, overseeing the use of research facilities, and drafting related reports, papers, guidelines, and proposals; (c) liaising with internal departments and external partners to facilitate participation in polar expeditions, research collaboration, educational and outreach activities; (d) leading the planning and execution of international conferences, seminars, workshops, outreach programs, and other relevant events; (e) developing, editing, and producing promotional content and materials for exhibitions and events across various formats, including bilingual (English and Chinese) written copy, graphics, photography, and video; and (f) assisting with other duties and special projects as assigned.
 

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements  set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo; (iii) at least 3 years of post-qualification executive experience, preferably with experience collaborating with the Chinese Mainland institutions; (iv) a strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (v) strong project management and multitasking skills; (vi) a can-do attitude, and a well-organised, independent, and detail-oriented work approach; and (vii) strong time management and problem-solving abilities, as well as a high level of computer literacy. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to take written test(s) and an interview.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
