Your new role
The GM Technology & Delivery is a significant, broad general management role that encompasses overarching accountability for the technology strategy (People, Process, Technology) and delivery for our New Zealand and Pacific businesses.
As a part of a matrixed structure, this role will be part of the NZ Senior Leadership Team and with a reporting line to our AUSPAC CIO. In this key senior position, you will be accountable for leading the strategy, design, implementation, and full lifecycle management of our NZ and Pacific technology estate, leading a team of technology and delivery professionals to deliver continuous improvement for our people, partners and customers.
Based in Auckland, you will work with the local and Group Technology function to align technology modernisation priorities and execution, joining a community of like-minded technology leaders across QBE’s global operations.
Key accountabilities:
- Lead the lifecycle management of NZ and Pacific technology estate including software development of technology solutions.
- Oversee technology delivery leads and teams, further embedding agile within Technology and programs
- Collaborate with broader business functions and global stakeholders to drive integration and alignment of technology solutions across the organisation
- Foster strong relationships internally and externally to ensure technology initiatives meet business needs
- Promote excellence across your team through the attraction and retention of a high-quality workforce
- Coach, mentor and further developing the technology and delivery team to inspire best performance and future-proof our workforce
About you
This is an opportunity for an experienced technology leader with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to join a major insurer with an established New Zealand and Pacific business. You will enjoy building relationships with technology and business professional globally, partnering with other teams to ensure synergies and consistent ways of working.
Financial services or insurance experience is not essential; however we will be preferencing candidates who have worked in global, large-scale, or matrixed organisations. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who possess a core technology leadership skillset.
