The Position:
This is a part-time, permanent position based out of our Orange Hub Respite Centre (#400, 10045 156 St NW, Edmonton, AB, T5P 2P7) and will report to the Program Supervisor.
Winter Session: January 10, 2026 to March 28, 2026 (Centre Closed on February 14 and March 21)
Required Commitment: 10 sessions with scheduled shifts on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m.
The Team Lead (TL) provides leadership and support to Community Specialists (CS) and participants for assigned programs. This role will ensure program planning and implementation focuses on participant goals and meeting assigned outcomes. The conscientious TL acts with integrity, is open to growth, lives our purpose, cultivates teamwork, and demonstrates an extraordinary effort to empower individuals with diverse abilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong.
- Informs, supports, trains, mentors, leads, and oversees direct care front line employees
- Plans programming, ensuring meaningful days and purposeful support
- Foster genuine relationships promoting dignity, personal interests, and identities
- Empower people with diverse abilities to create meaningful days and achieve their goals
- Identifies and solves problems, building employee capacity in difficult situations
- Conduct general administration, follow-ups, documentation, and reporting duties as assigned
- Ensures risk free, stimulating, safe, and supportive environment
- Perform other job-related activities as required
Qualifications
- Minimum education requirement of a High School Diploma with minimum of 3-5 years of related experience, or a Certificate or Diploma in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field with 2-3 years of related experience, or a University Degree in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field with 1-2 years of related experience
- Alignment with AdaptAbilities core purpose and core values
- Capable leadership, communication, teamwork and positive attitude
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to remain calm in emotionally challenging situations and effectively use empathy
- Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check are required
- Intermediate First Aid Certification CPR Level C and AED is required upon hire
- Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol is required for Team Leads working with adults
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Medication Administration are required
Compensation $25.65 to $26.95 per hour depending on experience and education
