Senior Software Engineer

<p><strong>Some careers have more impact than others.</strong><br>If you’re looking for a career where you can make a real impression, join HSBC and discover how valued you’ll be.</p><p>We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of <strong>Senior Software Engineer.</strong></p><p><strong>Principal responsibilities</strong><br>• As a backend developer, you will collaborate with local and global technology teams to develop the GPB&amp;W banking system.<br>• Develop and build applications in the Cloud using a micro-service framework.<br>• Collaborate with teams across different locations to deliver IT solutions.<br>• Plan, code, and test applications using Agile and DevOps methodologies.<br>• Follow best programming practices: clean implementation, code reviews, testing, documentation, automation, etc.<br>• Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to solve complex problems.    </p><p><strong>Knowledge &amp; Experience / Qualifications</strong><br>• University graduate with a degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.<br>• At least 5 years of experience in IT with solid knowledge of application development.<br>• Strong experience in micro-service design and implementation, familiarity with backend technology stacks such as Java 17, SpringBoot 3, SpringCloud, RestfulAPI, JPA, and SQL.<br>• Strong experience with cloud platforms on AWS (VPC, EC2, ECS, EKS, SNS, SQS, IAM, CloudWatch).<br>• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar territory.<br>• Familiarity with database technologies such as DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.<br>• Familiarity with middleware technologies such as Kafka, K8S/Docker, MQ, and Websphere.<br>• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and GitHub, and familiarity with TDD/BDD and automated testing.<br>• Experience in Banking &amp; Financial projects is a plus.<br>• Experience on Apache Camel is a plus.<br>• Good understanding of Agile development principles (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).<br>• Good English communication skills and teamwork spirit.<br>• Able to work under pressure and demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, and rapid learning capability.</p><p><strong>Nice to have</strong><br>• micro-service design<br>• Java 17<br>• SpringBoot 3<br>• SpringCloud<br>• RestfulAPI<br>• JPA<br>• AWS (VPC, EC2, ECS, EKS, SNS, SQS, IAM, CloudWatch)<br>• Apache Camel</p><p>HSBCVZ/GZ*<br><strong>About HSBC Technology China</strong><br>We develop, implement and support software and IT services and processes that allow HSBC to remain at the forefront of high-quality banking systems. </p><p><strong>You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC. </strong></p><p>HSBC is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
