In this role, you will: <ul style="margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0px;"><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Design, develop, and optimize robust Python-based applications and services.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Work closely with teams to design and implement event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot PL/SQL procedures, packages, queries, and database logic.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Collaborate with DevOps teams to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Leverage GitHub for source control, branching strategies, code reviews, and release management.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Write efficient automation scripts to streamline operations and improve productivity.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Participate in requirements analysis, design discussions, and architecture decisions.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Ensure adherence to industry best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Debug and resolve production issues, ensuring zero business impact and high availability.</li></ul> To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: <ul style="margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0px;"><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">6+ years of hands-on development experience with Python (core + frameworks).</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Strong experience working with PL/SQL and Oracle databases.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Solid understanding of API development, microservices, and event-driven architecture.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Practical knowledge of Kafka, data streaming, or messaging systems.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Experience with GitHub, including pull requests, code reviews, and branch management.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar automation tools.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Strong debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Knowledge of shell scripting or similar scripting languages.</li></ul> You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.www.hsbc.com/careers HSBC is committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
