You will lead the design and evolution of our SaaS Employee Communications platform providing multi-channel employee communications capabilities to our global customer base.  The ideal candidate brings deep SaaS expertise, hands-on experience with AWS serverless technologies, a solid understanding of distributed system design and understanding of AI technologies. Key Responsibilities  <ul> <li>Produce, promote and govern scalable and reliable architectural patterns and standards to follow (with reference implementations)</li> <li>Architect and evolve systems to ensure modularity, scalability, and performance across a multi-tenant SaaS environment.</li> <li>Design and implement capabilities across our SaaS platform leading on PoCs for emerging capabilities.</li> <li>Collaborating with stakeholders to align architecture roadmaps with product vision, business value and agile delivery</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, DevOps, and QA to deliver cohesive solutions.</li> <li>Implement secure, standards-compliant authentication and authorization using tools like Curity, Cognito, OAuth2, and OIDC.</li> <li>Guide design decisions, Lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.</li> <li>Explore market and open-source offerings for new capabilities and lead buy versus build decisions including leading vendor and partner technical evaluations.</li> <li>Explore and incorporate AI/ML capabilities, including LLMs and generative workflows.</li> <li>Maintain focus on performance optimization, cost-efficiency, and operational excellence through metrics and monitoring tools.</li> <li>Collaborate on troubleshooting and resolving issues with tuning, coding or design</li> <li>Evaluate industry trends for opportunities and risks, including security</li> <li>Mentoring, coaching, cultivating innovation and knowledge sharing across Engineering </li> </ul> Education & Experience   <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. </li> <li>10+ years of development experience with at least 3 years in architect roles. </li> <li>Expert-level proficiency in Node.js / TypeScript, including asynchronous programming and modular architecture. </li> <li>Strong hands-on experience designing and scaling applications using microservices and AWS serverless services. </li> <li>Proven understanding of distributed systems, multi-tenancy, RBAC, and SaaS security principles. </li> <li>Event-Driven & Streaming Systems: Hands-on experience with event streaming (Kafka, Kinesis, SNS/SQS) and asynchronous workflows. </li> <li>Observability & Reliability: Champion observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and resilience patterns (circuit breakers, retries, chaos testing) to ensure fault tolerance and rapid recovery. </li> <li>Experience with implementing and governing data architecture  </li> <li>Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code (CDK/Terraform), Git workflows, and automated testing. </li> <li>Familiarity with React or modern frontend frameworks . </li> <li>Knowledge of AI/ML integrations, LLM tooling (Cursor, Windsurf), or generative AI workflows is a bonus. </li> <li>Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders and a proven ability to influence across teams and functions. </li> <li>You are a change leader.  You listen, negotiate, gain support, and motivate people to move to the new position. </li> <li>You are strategic and innovative.  You develop creative solutions to complex challenges using standards when available or by developing new standards when appropriate</li> </ul> Who We Are We are a values-driven organization that encourages our employees to bring their authentic selves to work every day and empowers everyone to make a tangible impact on our products, clients, and culture.
