Registered Midwife: Rotational Birthing Suite, Postnatal wards - Northern Beaches Hospital

The Role

We are seeking casual midwives with a passion for providing current evidence based care in collaboration with women and the wider health care team. Our midwives enjoy working across the service in all areas of midwifery with a work life balance that 12 hour shifts provide. There is opportunity to have input into the future development of evidence-based models of care for women and families. There will be support for gaining additional skills in areas such as advanced birthing skills, lactation, women's health and psychosocial wellbeing.

As a Midwife at NBH you will make an impact by:

• Providing high standards of evidence-based midwifery care to women of varying ages and cultural groups
• Planning, assessing, implementing and evaluating midwifery care in collaboration with women, their families and the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and health outcomes
• Guiding and mentor junior and undergraduate midwives in provision of midwifery care
• Working collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
• Being passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience for women and their families.   

As a high performing team member, you will possess the following:

• Current Registration as a Midwife with AHPRA
• Bachelor of Midwifery or Graduate Diploma in Midwifery (if Bachelor of Nursing is first qualification) or equivalent
• Highly developed clinical skills across the continuum of maternity care - with a desire to focus on birthing/postnatal
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to family-focused approach to care

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2024 with a salary range between $39.09 - $54.89/hour
