About the Role

Description

The Prep Cook supports the culinary team by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring kitchen readiness for service. This entry-level role provides the foundation for developing cooking skills and gaining exposure to a professional kitchen environment.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Wash, chop, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and chef instructions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, coolers, and storage areas.
  • Label, date, and properly store food items to maintain freshness and safety.
  • Assist cooks and chefs during service by providing prepped ingredients and basic tasks.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1+ year previous kitchen experience is preferred
  • Basic knife skills and knowledge of food handling.
  • Ability to follow directions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain).

Physical Requirements

  • Stand/walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours).
  • Lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Work in hot, cold, and humid environments.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
