About the Role

Due to organic growth, we have a newly created position for a Cost & Project Controls Engineer to support cost management and project controls for our Fuels and Energy team. This role ensures accurate forecasting, cost tracking, and compliance with all financial and project control requirements while working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Key Responsibility Areas
Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost breakdown structures.
Monitor actual costs versus forecasts and report variances.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports and performance metrics.
Support change management processes and assess cost impacts of scope changes.
Collaborate with planning and scheduling teams to align cost and schedule baselines.
Ensure compliance with UGL and client financial systems and reporting standards.
Liaise with procurement, engineering, and finance teams to optimize cost efficiency.
About You
Minimum 5 years’ experience in cost engineering or project controls within oil & gas or heavy industry.
Tertiary in Engineering or similar is highly regarded.
Strong understanding of financial and project management principles and techniques
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in cost control tools and ERP systems (SAP experience desirable).
Proficiency in Excel, Power BI
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
